Dorsoduro

This wine comprises Pinot Gris grapes and small percentages of Chardonnay. Its name comes from one of the districts of enchanting Venice, sestiere Dorsoduro. The name derives from the fact that in the past the district was occupied by hard land (a ‘hardback’), less marshy than other parts of the city. As most of the university buildings stand in sestiere Dorsoduro, it is a favourite area for student accommodation.

The district also houses two of the most important Venetian museums, the Accademia and the Peggy Guggenheim Collection. This wine is vivacious, fresh and well-balanced; pleasantly versatile, it is drinkable without being banal.
